Press Release Club du Fond de Wallonie (organiser of Montelimar):

The pigeon with ring number 5177817-06 from Maurice Martens from Maaseik, was clocked at 15h49min46sec., with a velocity of 1437,87m/min.

This pigeon was classified as 1st national Montélimar in the provisional result on the basis of the notification list. The pigeon was registered at 15h54. During this registration the fancier was unable to communicate the number of the competition rubber ring. The fancier explained that the pigeon was only wearing 1 rubber ring. He then directly made contact with the chairman of his club in Maaseik, who came to investigate the presence of the pigeon in the lofts of Maurice Martens at 16h15.
The chairman of the Olijftak in Maaseik confirmed that all the pigeons were given 2 rubber rings during basketting.
